SCHAUMACID DRY – The easy-to-use acid combination with a wide range of effects
If a micro-doser is used for administering acids, this can often result in problems such as sluggish flow of product or the auger getting sticky. This can lead to an enormous amount of extra work for farmers, so many often prefer to do without feed acids altogether. This is where the new SCHAUMACID DRY acid combination comes in: it is perfectly granulated and so ensures a wide range of effects.
Feed acids are not always easy to administer
The use of organic acids has been tried and tested and is an established practice in pig-keeping. Acid combinations with a wide range of effects are particularly popular. Until now, the majority of acid combinations were only available in liquid form. However, dosing liquid acids in feed is not possible in all systems and administering them via drinking water is not always the best solution. There are different ways to approach using individual feed acids. Either individual dried acids like sorbic acid or fumaric acid can be used or liquid acids can be administered with a carrier. Both methods have their disadvantages: Hard/dried acids usually come in powder form. If different particle sizes are used, stable mixtures cannot be produced and there is a risk of the mixtures separating. In addition, powdery products tend to clog up micro-dosers and so cannot be dosed reliably. While liquid acids have to be added to a carrier, acid granules are usually more or less moist. When used in pig feeding this can cause the auger of the micro-doser to become sticky and clogged up.
SCHAUMACID DRY with high dosing accuracy
The newly developed SCHAUMACID DRY is an acid combination consisting only of dried acids and their salts. The raw materials are pressed in a special process that does not use binding agents or additives and are then processed to form even granules. This way, the advantages of an acid combination are combined with the security of a dry acid. SCHAUMACID DRY stands out with its low boil-off rate and high dosing accuracy.
Optimal protection against pathogenic bacteria
For a wide range of effects, SCHAUMACID DRY contains a combination of formic, fumaric, sorbic, citric and lauric acid. This means that a bacteriostatic effect against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria is achieved. As a medium-chain fatty acid, the lauric acid that the product contains also works against gram-positive bacteria as unlike other acids, it can pass through the thicker cell walls. As such, SCHAUMACID DRY safely inhibits the pathogens found on farms such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Streptococci, Staphylococci or Clostridia, and promotes the development of pigs, calves and poultry.
