Measurably faster ensiling with BONSILAGE SPEED G

The lactic acid bacteria strain Lactobacillus diolivorans, contained in Bonsilage SPEED G, is able to produce already swiftly high amounts of yeast and mould inhibiting acetic acid. Grass silages, treated with this silage additive, convince through aerobic stability and optimal suppression of fermentation pests after 2 weeks silo ripening time. A higher feed intake is ensured.

 

The results out of SCHAUMANN silage monitoring prove this again. After two weeks of silage maturation, the silages had more than 24 g of acetic acid per kg of dry matter. Through the use of BONSILAGE SPEED G, grass silage already achieves stability after two weeks, which can only be achieved with conventional silage additives after six to eight weeks. This has the consequence that in the BONSILAGE SPEED G-treated silage, the post-heating-inducing yeasts are inhibited from the beginning (see Fig. 1).

 

 

Silages stay stable for longer

 

An exact trial by the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Agriculture in 2017 proves the high aerobic stability of BONSILAGE SPEED G. Grass silage treated with the silage additive and an untreated control were opened after 14 and 28 days silo maturing time. The untreated control showed already on the fourth day a clear reheating. Grass silage treated with BONSILAGE SPEED G remained stable until the eighth and tenth day after opening (see figure 2).

 

If the sum of the reheating degrees is used as a scale, the energy loss due to reheating with BONSILAGE SPEED G is reduced by a factor of 3. As the silo maturing time increases, larger amounts of propionic acid are also formed, which has a conserving effect and also supports the stability of the opened silage.

 

 

BONSILAGE SPEED G increases feed intake

 

A main reason for insufficient feed intake is the warming caused by yeast fungi. The associated loss of energy leads to metabolic disorders and deteriorated fertility parameters (see figure 3). BONSILAGE SPEED G protects the treated silage from reheating and supports a high feed intake on high-energy silage with very good stability.
