Hygienic powders PROFISTREU LB and PROFIDRY LB with active protective cultures

In the farrowing area in particular, a high level of hygiene is vital. Hygienic powders PROFISTREU LB and PROFIDRY LB are equipped with active protective cultures and optimise the stall environment.

The high water-binding capacity of PROFISTREU LB and PROFIDRY LB absorbs moisture and thus creates dry, non-slip surfaces (see Fig. 1). This increases the stability of the animals and decreases the risk of injury to piglets (e.g. skin abrasions). The portal of entry for streptococci and other pathogens is avoided. The use of PROFISTREU LB and PROFIDRY LB also accelerates the drying of the piglets after birth.

Improved infection protection

The new litter powders PROFISTREU LB and PROFIDRY LB contain probiotic protective cultures with antimicrobial action. They build an active protection system on the surfaces of the piglet environment and inhibit the growth of pathogenic spores. The result is a reduced germ burden in the barn and a strengthened infection protection of the animals. The mineral carrier components of the powder has a pH-active effect. The pH of 3.5 effectively inhibits the development of pathogenic spores (e.g. Clostridium perfringens, E. coli, Salmonella, staphylococci).

PROFIDRY LB

PROFIDRY LB is particularly valuable thanks to its enormously high water-binding capacity (see Fig. 2). The improved physical properties reduce ammonia formation. This improves the air quality in the barn and creates an optimal microclimate directly in the piglet area. The faster and longer-lasting dry bays also inhibit the spread of pathogens. Comparison tests with conventional hygienic powders confirm the higher water binding capacity. PROFIDRY LB need be applied less frequently than conventional hygienic powders to achieve the same effect. Thus, the application rate per m² can be significantly reduced.
