BONSILAGE ALFA convinces on farms


The silage additive BONSILAGE ALFA was specially developed for use in alfalfa and clover grass silages. Successful product applications in Germany and Europe confirm the effect of the lactic acid bacteria strains, which are specially adapted to the difficult silage conditions of alfalfa and clover or clover grass. The biological silage additive can be used in a dry matter range of 25-40 %.

 

Lactic acid bacteria strains protect against reheating

 

BONSILAGE ALFA combines the three homofermentative lactic acid bacteria (LAB) L. paracasei, L. plantarum and Lc. Lactis with the heterofermentative LAB-strain L. buchneri. Both L. paracasei and L. plantarum have the rare property of being able to split fructans.

This guarantees an extremely effective lowering of the pH even with difficult-to-silage crops such as alfalfa and clover. Lc. lactis has a direct inhibitory effect against fermentation pests such as clostridia or enterobacteria. The LAB strain L. buchneri releases controlled amounts of acetic acid and propanediol in the course of ensiling, so that the silages are better protected against reheating.

 

BONSILAGE ALFA convinces with palatable and hygienically perfect silages

 

Balanced fermentation acid patterns ensure excellent silage palatability. The hygienic condition is also excellent (see figure). Despite partly more difficult ensiling conditions due to higher crude ash and low DM contents, the silage additive BONSIALGE ALFA produces stable silages with a balanced ratio of lactic acid and acetic acid. All silages convince by a very low number of clostridia spores, yeasts and moulds.
