Fattening pigs trial: CERAVITAL increases profitability

Daily weight gain increases with CERAVITAL

The basic prerequisite for successful pig fattening are high daily weight gain and good feed conversion. A trail with 602 fattening pigs showed impressively the biological and thus also the economic performance advantages through CERAVITAL.

Quality and digestibility of feed components increase the efficiency

To reach high daily weight gain and good feed conversion, the ration must be adapted to the demand of fattening pigs. The quality and digestibility of the components have to be of high quality. Through the use of CERAVITAL the NSP-fraction in our cereals are better opened and the digestibility of nutrients increased.

Structure of trial with CERAVITAL

The influence of CERAVITAL was tested in a trail with 602 fattening pigs (Danzucht x Pietrain). The piglets were housed with an average weight of 19 kg, divided in a control group without and with CERAVITAL and are fattened over the course of 105 days till they reached an end weight of 107 kg. The pigs received through liquid feeding system a commercial pre-grower and finisher feeding, consisting of wheat, barley, rye, soybean and rape-seed grist, wheat gluten und wheat barn (see figure 1).

Result: feed conversion and daily weight gain are clearly increasing

The daily weight gain in the pre-grower period are increased to over 48 g to 800 g in the CERAVITAL-group. During the whole fattening period the daily weight gain is 30 g higher than in the control group (see figure 2).

The trial groups have a significant difference in the feed conversion ratio (see figure 3). In the pre-grower period the feed conversion was improved in the CERAVITAL-group by over 11 % to 1:2,14. During the whole fattening period the feed conversion with 2: 2,66 about 4 % higher than in the control group. The lean-meat-ratio was not different with 57,4 %.

Conclusion

Experience shows that even at a high performance level CERAVITAL showed in usual diets increased live mass increases and improved feed efficiency. To improve efficiency CERAVITAL is successfully used in the SCHAUMANN swine program.
