An extra portion of propylene glycol with BONSILAGE FIT G

Energy deficits, especially at the beginning of lactation, are a problem in dairy cattle farming. These deficits can be compensated by the use of BONSILAGE silage additives. BONSILAGE FIT G optimizes the energy properties of grass silage and ensures high aerobic stability. The metabolism and fitness of dairy cows are supported.

The results of SCHAUMANN's recent silage monitoring show the positive effect of BONSILAGE FIT G (see figure 1). The use of BONSILAGE FIT G in grass silage produces an average of 25 g propylene glycol per kg dry matter. Depending on the quality of the grass harvested, peak values of up to 70 g propylene glycol per kg dry matter have even been achieved.

Dairy farmers feeding grass silage treated with BONSILAGE FIT G increasingly report significantly better herd restocking rates. The silages are more stable and tasty. The extra portion of propylene glycol makes the dairy cows fitter. An improved energy balance in early lactation and a reduced risk of clinical and subclinical ketoses are convincing (see figure 2).

Measurable more cow fitness

The use of BONISALGE FIT G in the diary ration provides a significant added value for feeding. When using 8 kg grass silage treated with BONSILAGE FIT G, 200 g propylene glycol per animal per day are fed from the grass silage. According to today's purchase price, this corresponds to a value of over 30 cents per cow and day. The use of BONSILAGE FIT G treated silages has a positive effect on the energy supply, metabolism, reproduction behaviour and overall fitness of dairy cows and thus on profitability.
